Finally - Pictures of Rose!

Initially Rose was concerned about the tripod and camera, but after a bit of sweet talk she was ready for her photo-shoot. We did get good reference photos and I plan on painting portraits of her soon. Rose is a beautiful full Arctic wolf that resides at The Wolf Sanctum here in the North Carolina mountains. JW and I went to visit Liz and the wolves again a few days ago and had a fantastic time as usual. It is one of my favorite places.

The Wolf Sanctum is a non profit facility that rescues and houses wolves and wolf dogs that have been abused, neglected or need refuge. It is also an educational facility. JW and I were both very impressed with The Wolf Sanctum upon our initial visit. The wolves have huge enclosures amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The wolves are allowed to be what they are, and the care each wolf receives is world class. The animals are happy, healthy, bright and enthusiastic. Under Liz’s careful guidance these magnificent animals flourish. JW and I hope to help this sanctuary by creating artwork that can raise money, and hopefully awareness.

Eshelokee talked JW into scritching his neck a bit.
I think that he knows that JW painted a fantastic portrait of him.
